It is now possible to drive between Kyiv and Odessa by electric vehicle with a couple of stops for coffee lasting from 20 to 40 minutes.
DTEK installed four STRUM high-speed charging stations on the Odessa highway at a distance of 100-150 km from each other in convenient locations:
- in the parking lot of the Golden Horseshoe hotel and restaurant complex, Chupyra village, Kyiv region, 100 km from the capital;
- at SOCAR filling station, Ropotukha village, Cherkasy region (near Uman);
- at Shell refueling, Nastasiyevka village, Odessa region, 130 km from Odessa;
- on the parking lot of the METRO supermarket in Odessa (Aeroportivska St., 29).
“A small power reserve of electric vehicles without high-speed charging made them hostage to big cities, where fast charging stations are mainly concentrated. Opportunities to travel in Ukraine were limited. Now you can get to the sea or to the capital, making several stops for recharging and coffee. Our stations with a capacity of 50 kW charge a car battery up to 80% in 20-40 minutes”, said Igor Kovalev, STRUM network project manager.
You can find a free charging station in the capital or on the highway through the application STRUM Charging for smartphones. Multi-format stations of the latest generation from the European manufacturer ABB are capable of charging any electric vehicle (directly or through an adapter) and simultaneously charge two cars. Safety, including auto battery, is guaranteed by the presence of a full package of international certificates.
“Traveling from the capital to the sea will cost an average of 300 to 600 UAH. But Ukrainians do not just want to save, but think about the environmental benefits of this type of transport. Developing STRUM infrastructure, we help them to make a choice in favor of electric vehicles”, said Igor Kovalev.
By the end of this summer, the STRUM network will grow to 23 high-speed charging stations. 10 stations have been working in Kyiv for a year in the parking lots of the largest shopping and business centers. Another 13 stations will be installed from June to August. DTEK's investment in the development of charging infrastructure has already reached more than 20 million UAH, and with the completion of the installation of stations on the highways, it will increase to 30 million UAH.
