This is Roman Dudarev, a mining foreman who worked for 18 years at DTEK Energy.
In response to russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Roman answered his country’s call and joined a motorised infantry battalion. He rose to become commander of a machine gun squad and took part in some of the most intense combat on the eastern front.
Known by his call-sign 'Ramses', Junior Sergeant Dudarev was awarded Ukraine’s Cross of the Brave badge for his exceptional bravery.
On March 28, 2024, he was killed in a battle near the village of Klishchiyivka in Donetsk region.
As Ukraine marks 1,000 days since russia's full-scale invasion on 24th February 2022, DTEK honours Roman and every one of the 324 DTEK employees who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their stories embody our determination to never surrender.
