DTEK Renewables is strengthening its social partnership with communities in the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine. The company is driving sustainable development and empowering local residents through four projects.
Prior to constructing its Tyligulska wind farm, DTEK Renewables collaborated with the Mykolaiv Regional Council and Mykolaiv Regional State Administration to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation. This agreement laid the foundation for promoting economic growth and implementing sustainable development initiatives in the region.
Now, the company is delivering on that commitment. Since the start of 2024, DTEK Renewables has financed four transformative social projects across the Mykolaiv region:
- In Kobleve, DTEK Renewables provided a new solid fuel boiler for the Anatolivka village lyceum, replacing their broken unit.
- In Berezanka, the company funded energy-efficient window and door replacements at the Krasnopillya lyceum.
- DTEK Renewables also launched a water supply system repair project in two Berezanka streets.
- Most recently, the company installed a state-of-the-art reverse osmosis water purification module in Anatolivka village, giving residents free access to clean drinking water. The community further enhanced the area with new pathways, accessibility ramps, and flower beds.
Oleg Solovey, Deputy CEO for Operations at DTEK Renewables said: “Continuous support of communities is one of our company’s important activities as a socially responsible business. We are interested in the development of the regions of DTEK Renewables’ presence despite the war and the current difficulties.
“This year, we are trying to implement most of the social projects envisaged by the social partnership programmes. We focus on important projects for people, such as improving conditions in schools and providing access to clean drinking water.
Since the beginning of the year, we have already financed more than UAH 2.5 million for their implementation. There are other projects ahead that can be implemented in close cooperation with communities. Therefore, we thank the communities for their active cooperation and trust.”
The implementation of social projects continues in other regions. For example, a new sports and children's playground will be installed in the village of Bruskinske of the Velyka Oleksandrivka village council in Kherson region. The equipment for the playground was also financed by DTEK Renewables. In the Nikopol district of Dnipro region, communities identify priority projects based on the situation in the region.
