and safety
Safeguarding the life, health and wellbeing of our people while they are at work is our number one priority. We've developed a culture of zero tolerance for injuries, and implemented measures aimed at maintaining safe working conditions.
The green transition is profoundly transforming the global energy landscape, and DTEK is embracing this revolution.
From our origins as a thermal power producer, DTEK is today transforming into a sustainable and resilient energy leader for both Ukraine and Europe.
Across the continent, our windfarms, solar plants and battery storage facilities are contributing to strengthened energy security and supporting the drive to decarbonise.
And in millions of homes across Ukraine, DTEK’s 55,000-strong team ensures the continuity of energy supply, even amid ongoing russian attacks targeting energy infrastructure.
DTEK is setting new standards of corporate governance in Ukraine and meeting our reporting obligations in accordance with European Union requirements.
This marks only the beginning of our ongoing journey towards sustainability.
“From the bitter experience of war, Ukraine is forging a new energy future and accelerating our decarbonisation. Relentless russian attacks have shown us value of a decentralised energy system, with renewable generation at its core. Together with DTEK’s climate commitments and our mission to rebuild a brighter future, sustainability is today a strategic imperative across our Group.”
We take our responsibilities to people and planet seriously, but DTEK wants to go further. That is why we are rolling out our largest ever sustainability programme to transform every part of our operations.
At every business and across the Group, we are challenging ourselves around what we do, and how we do it. That means accelerating our investments in the green transition and putting in place the tools to understand, manage and reduce our impacts on society and the environment.
We are equipping our people with the skills to identify sustainability risk, rolling out new systems to meet regulatory obligations and setting strategies that enable us to seize the opportunity that lies ahead.
“I joined DTEK because I saw the incredible impact the company could have. Whether that’s our critical role in decarbonising a nation’s energy system, or helping Ukraine’s energy system integrate with Europe’s, sustainability is core to this agenda.”
Since the company’s founding, DTEK has grown into a national energy leader. Sustainable growth and responsible business practices have been integral to our approach for 20 years, and today we are going further than ever before, transforming into a pan-European clean energy business.
DTEK is at the centre of the two crucial challenges facing European society: the climate crisis and the threat of war. Both have brought the need for a more resilient, decentralised energy system into sharp focus, accelerating DTEK's transformation into a green energy leader.

In the face of daily attacks from russia, DTEK generates and distributes critical power to millions of citizens, businesses and public institutions – ultimately sustaining lives and livelihoods through war:
Every day, DTEK Grids engineers work under fire to reconnect powerlines and substances attacked by russia. So far, they have brought power back to more than 20 million homes.
More than 5,000 DTEK staff have served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and more than 300 have been tragically killed. It is our responsibility to support them and their families.
Since 2022, we've directed over €18 million to support the armed forces and humanitarian objectives, and paid over €2.5 billion of tax to the Ukrainian state.
DTEK employees consistently demonstrate exceptional courage, professionalism and resilience while operating in the most extreme circumstances on the energy front line.
They represent the very best of DTEK.
That means our commitment to every member of the DTEK team goes above and beyond – ensuring fair compensation, a safe and inclusive work environment, growth opportunities and a system that recognises and rewards outstanding performance.
