As of the first half of 2020, the total number of private solar power plants connected to the distribution system operators (DSOs) of DTEK Grids is 7,220, which is 28% of the total number of prosumers in Ukraine. In the first six months, 1,330 new solar power plants have been connected to the DSOs grids.

The State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine reported on 25.6 thousand private solar power plants installed in Ukraine as of the second quarter of 2020. 7,220 private solar power plants, which is almost a third of all prosumers in Ukraine, have been connected to the DSO grids of DTEK Grids. According to the State Agency, 3,657 new facilities have been installed throughout Ukraine in six months.

In Ukraine, the number of home solar power plants at least doubles every year. This global trend is already a common occurrence in our country. DTEK acts in the interests of Ukraine and provides free access to the electrical infrastructure for all customers. As of the second quarter, 7,220 private solar power plants have already been connected to the distribution system operators of DTEK Grids, which is twice as much as last year,’ said Ivan Geliukh, General Director of DTEK Grids.

The absolute leader in connecting solar power plants to the grids in Ukraine is DTEK Dnipro Grids. As of 1 July 2020, 3,398 private solar power plants were installed in Dnipropetrovsk Region, and 785 of them have been connected this year. All distribution system operators demonstrate equally high connection dynamics.

As of 1 July 2020:

  • Kyivoblenergo got 297 new SPPs, with a total number of 2,082;
  • Odesaoblenergo got 126 new SPPs, with a total number of 1,071;
  • DTEK Donetsk Grids got 109 new SPPs, with a total number of 473;
  • DTEK Kyiv Grids got 15 new SPPs, with a total number of 196.
