For the second time court fails to confirm validity of allegations made against DTEK employees

DTEK16 August 2019

Another DTEK employee arrived voluntarily at the Solomyansky District Court of Kyiv alongside the lawyer today, 16 August 2019. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) allegation is totally unfounded, so he was ready to answer all questions to protect himself and the company’s reputation through court proceedings.

The court dismissed the NABU’s appeal for detention as a preventive measure for the second DTEK employee to whom the NABU suspicion was addressed. Following the court hearing, a bail in the amount of UAH 9.6 mln was set as a preventive measure.

A few days earlier - on 14 August 2019 - the court made a similar decision in relation to another DTEK employee involved in the case.

The positions taken consistently by the court reflect the baseless nature of the allegations made by NABU against DTEK employees. The material presented at the pre-trial investigation do not confirm the resonant statements made publicly by NABU’s representatives at the outset of the investigation.

Based on the aforementioned decisions, the court took into account the arguments of the defense, which testified to the groundlessness of the declared allegations.

As previously stated, DTEK's employees declared their willingness to cooperate with the pre-trial investigation authorities immediately after the allegations were announced, to establish the truth as quickly as possible. They voluntarily visited NABU offices to join proceedings, providing comprehensive answers to the bureau representatives’ questions.

The integrity and professionalism of DTEK’s employees is widely recognized across the industry. The company will continue to provide them full legal support to protect their rights, honor and business reputation.
