Kiev, 01 September 2008. – The best twenty employees of Pavlogradugol OJSC and the best five employees of Komsomolets Donbassa Mine OJSC were rewarded by Donbass Fuel-Energy Company with new cars on their professional holiday.
The past year was a significant one in terms of the achievements of DTEK’s coal mining business. Komsomolets Donbassa Mine OJSC and Pavlogradugol OJSC, which in 2008 celebrates its 45th anniversary, produced more than 15 mln. tons of coal for the first time since the period of Ukrainian independence. In view of such a memorable day and outstanding performance, the management of DTEK decided to encourage the coal miners, and in honour of Miner’s Day, to present the best of them with new VAZ 2107cars. The workers, crew foremen, team foremen and section foremen were included on the list of the people to be rewarded.
The rewarding ceremony took place during a traditional celebration programme with the participation of Ukrainian and Russian singers in the central squares of Pavlograd and Kirovskoye towns. For three years running, DTEK has celebrated these holidays for the citizens of these towns, as well as Ternovka and Pershotravensk towns by inviting favourite singers. The car certificates and ‘The Badges of Honour of DTEK’ were presented by Maxim Timchenko, the Chief Executive Officer of the Company.

On their professional holiday, twenty employees of DTEK coal mining companies obtained well-deserved awards from the State. Valeriy Grechushkin, a section foreman of Komsomolets Donbassa Mine OJSC, was given the rank of Hero of Ukraine. One DTEK employee was awarded the ‘Order of Merit’ of ІІ grade, three employees were awarded the ‘Order of Merit’ of ІІІ grade and three employees of Pavlogradugol were awarded the medal ‘For Labour and Victory’. The rank ‘Honourable Miner of Ukraine’ was awarded to 12 employees of DTEK mines.
