Turboatom OJSC became the successful bidder based on the results of the tender held by energy generating company Vostokenergo for the upgrade of the turbine К-300-240-2 at Zuevskaya TPP power unit No1, the press center of the company reported to UNIAN.

According to the press center, the contract for the upgrade and supply of the equipment is planned to be signed within one week. The value of the contract is about UAH 96 m.

The tender offer assumes replacement of the air-gas channel of the low-pressure cylinders. Turboatom OJSC will manufacture a completely new low-pressure rotor comprising a welded-forged construction and air-gas channel elements. Furthermore, the enterprise will deal with the design, assembly supervision and technical assistance for the startup and debugging procedure.

All this equipment will be manufactured and supplied before the middle of 2009. The upgrade is expected to increase the installed power unit capacity by at least 15 МW, as well as to increase the low-pressure cylinder efficiency to 86%.

Presently, Turboatom OJSC also takes part in the upgrade of ZuTPP unit steam turbine No2. The assembly tasks are scheduled for September, whereas power unit startup is planned in October-November 2008.

Turboatom OJSC manufactures steam turbines for TPPs and NPPs, hydroturbines for HPPs and gas turbines for TPPs. Turbines are manufactured using the closed-cycle scheme: from design/construction and scientific/research work to manufacturing, assembly, testing and shipment. The structure of Turboatom includes two special design offices, technical subdivisions, scientific and research laboratories, a procurement base, machining production and power equipment testing facilities.

Vostokenergo Ltd. (Donetsk) comprises Zuevskaya TPP (4 power units of 300 MW each), Kurakhovskaya TPP (6 power units of 3 units 210 МW each and 1 unit of 200 МW) and Luganskaya TPP (7 units of 175 МW each and I unit of 100 МW), a total capacity of 3985 МW. Turbines К-300 with a 300 МW capacity are manufactured and installed by Turboatom at Zuevskaya TPP, which dates from the late seventies.
