DTEK is selecting an automated time keeping system for the surface and underground employees of Pavlogradugol OJSC mines
25 July, 2008

Commentary of Nazariy BILITSKIY, Head of DTEK’s IT Department:

Our ambitious project starts in August 2008 and it will take about one and a half years to implement. The implementation of the project will allow an automated recording of the working time of underground and surface mine employees and the control of people’s presence underground. This will also reduce unauthorized access to a mine due to the application of technical and software system tools. Furthermore, the introduction of an automated time keeping system will increase safety: information on the personnel underground will be available on-line to promptly respond in emergency situations.

The key project stages are as follows:

  • to analyse the current automated time keeping and access control systems;
  • to select a contractor to enter into a contract based on tender offers;
  • pre-project examination of the automation facilities; to develop design documentation;
  • to introduce a system: to supply and install equipment; to train personnel; trial and commercial commissioning.

Additionally

DTEK invites companies with software and engineering solutions and experience in the automation of time cards, access control, the introduction of underground positioning at coal mining companies to send their business offers.

For you to prepare business proposals, upon your request, DTEK will provide the key requirements to the system, scope and contents of business offers; if necessary, site visits to the automation facilities will be arranged, and additional information will be supplied.
