The Coal mining company ‘Pavlogradugol’ (Pavlograd, Dnepropetrovsk region) intends to purchase equipment for the Dneprovskaya mine to the amount of €16 m in 2008.

This was reported to Ukrainsky Novyny by the press secretary of Pavlogradugol, Yuliya Kolomoyets.

‘Pavlogradugol has important tasks in the near future, which cannot be resolved without the significant modernization of production and introduction of high-quality and efficient equipment at the mines. We plan that the purchase of Ostroj and TMachinery equipment will help us to raise the level of coal output and to reduce the cost of coal production’, citing the words of the General Director of Pavlogradugol Nikolay Tishchenko.

The company signed contracts with Ostroj and TMachinery "(Czechia) for the delivery of powered supports, shearer MB-410E and conveyor CZK-190/800 in 2008 to the total amount of about €16 m.

The equipment will be assembled in the longwall 1049 of the Dneprovskaya mine, where 500 thousand ton of coal reserves are concentrated.

‘According to the specialists’ forecasts, very difficult mining-geological conditions are expected in this breakage face, which allows for the testing of the reliability of this new equipment’, said Kolomoyets.

She also said that before overhaul, the current Ostroj powered support equipment's service life is 8-10 years, which is much more than that of other equipment used in other Ukrainian companies; An MB-410E shearer’s life before major overhaul is 3 m. ton, which is 7.5 times more than the life of the most efficient shearer operated at the Dneprovskaya mine, a shearer UKD-200/250.

The supply company is also to ensure the maintenance of equipment and the training of specialists at the Dneprovskaya mine so that they are able to operate the new equipment.

As the agency informed, Pavlogradugol finished 2007 with a net profit of UAH 1.623 m, having increased its net income by 9.6% or by UAH 213.422 m compared with 2006 to UAH 2,435.582 m.

Pavlogradugol is incorporated into Donbass Fuel-Energy Company (Donetsk).

The company produces gas group coking and thermal coal.

The company comprises 10 mines.
