Pavlogradugol is the largest coal mining company in Ukraine. It consists of 10 mines and other structural subdivisions. The enterprise employs over 26 000 people. In 2008, Pavlogradugol produced over 14.2 million tons of coal, which is 18.2% of the total national production. Full mechanization of the process ensured that in 2008, drift miners drove 113.6 km of mine workings or over one fifth of the total volume of mine workings in Ukraine. Priority use of innovative technologies noticeably improved the quality of coal, which is mainly supplied to thermal power and by-product coke plants.

The elaborate development concept, which includes the modernization of equipment, introduction of up-to-date methods of production control and improved labour safety have become the guarantee of successful work of the company. In 2008 alone, over UAH 1000 million was spent on investment programmes, which contributes not only to the achievement of high and stable financial and economical indicators of the company’s activity and growth in budget revenues, but also to the settlement of most of the social and economic issues of the region.
